On Monday morning (last Monday, the 19th), Mrs. splorp! and I hopped on a plane (an hour and a half later, due to Burbank being fogged in) and flew to Ohio to visit the rents. I got to see my baby sister, Lizard, in her new state. We had a good time visiting. We got to see my grandparents (Grandpa & Grandma Shirley and Mamaw & Bob), my Aunt Bobbie and two of her kids (Gary and Tammi) and my Aunt Becky. Mrs. splorp! and I also went out to dinner with Lizard and her husband, Aaron, and my best friend, Rob and his wife, Melissa. While I do miss spending time with my family and friend, I do not (read: do NOT NOT NOT) miss the weather. I should have some more pictures of the visit (along with the long-promised new apartment pictures) soon.

What do you do when you move into a new apartment and don't yet have everything unpacked? Yes, that's right! You buy more stuff! Today we bought Mrs. splorp! a nice new desk. It took about 3 hours to put the damned thing together, but she really likes it. Again, promise of pictures, but not until the rest of the stuff is unpacked and put away in it's place. By the way... anyone need a desk? We need to get rid of the old one (;<

Almost everything is unpacked, now. Almost. ::sigh:: The second bedroom (AKA "The Computer Room") still needs some stuff unpacked. Mrs. splorp!'s books are a big chunk of what's left, but there's still some miscellaneous stuff, too. I even put our artwork and photographs up in the living room. Once the computer room is done, I'll post some pictures of the new place, including our "yard". We're going back east to visit my parents for Thanksgiving and, once returned, should have some new pictures of the family, including my baby sister, Lizard, complete with distended belly.

Drusilla, the Vampire Parakeet To the left, you’ll see Drusilla,
the Vampire Parakeet, named after
a character on Buffy the Vampire Slayer,
because she bit like a vampire.
She passed away on 12/20/04.
